The Missionaries of Charity at St. Agnes Catholic Church benefited this Christmas season from the generosity of the St. Jean Vianney Catholic School community.
The school gathered diapers, wipes, toiletries, toys, slippers and books to donate to the shelter for women and children, along with gumbo, rice, potato salad, rolls and cookies for the women and children staying there. Additionally, St. Agnes received a $700 check to buy more supplies. The money was raised through St. Jean Vianney’s last Gator Garb Day and the Beta Club and Student Council.
According to a news release, the shelter is full this holiday season with 45 women and 19 children ages 3 months to 11 years.
