The Baton Rouge Corvette Club’s newest member, Jeannette Cassity, receives a sponsor’s plaque and trophy at her first car show in Biloxi, Miss.

The Baton Rouge Corvette Club attended the 23rd annual Vettes by the Shore Show held Oct. 28-29 at Edgewater Mall in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Sponsored by the Mississippi Gulf Coast Corvette Club, the show featured more than 150 Corvettes and presented more than 100 trophies and plaques.

This year’s theme was “Corvettes for Cops.” The sponsoring club presented $11,000 to area police departments and a medal of appreciation to each spouse of an active or retired police officer during the show’s opening ceremonies.

A Halloween party on Oct. 28 kicked off the weekend with costume contests, dancing, music, food and fellowship. A presentation of awards was held for the best costumes in five categories.

The Mississippi Gulf Coast Corvette Club and Greater New Orleans Corvette Club, also in attendance at the car show, have donated their time and support to Baton Rouge Corvette Club members who were affected by August flooding. The clubs came to Baton Rouge to help with gutting homes and delivered cleaning products and other supplies.
