Help neighbors in need in the community by donating new or gently used items to the Fill the Truck drive from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 24.

St. Aloysius Catholic Church is collaborating with St. Vincent de Paul on the drive, which will be held in the St. Aloysius parking lot on Stuart Avenue.

Acceptable items include furniture (no mattresses or box springs), clothing items, baby clothes and items, shoes, coats, sheets, towels, bedspreads, small working appliances, lamps, pots, pans, dishes and tools. All donated items must be placed in plastic bags or boxes when delivered. Hanging clothes will be accepted but must be covered.

Donated items may be claimed for income tax deductions. Volunteers from the St. Vincent de Paul Conference and Social Responsibility Committee will be on site to assist with completion of tax receipts.

Those with questions should email Kim Hardman at or call (225) 939-6962.
