BR-area girls compete in Junior Miss pageant _lowres

Five Baton Rouge area girls with The Crowning Moment were in Virginia Beach, Virginia, through Saturday to compete against 300 International Junior Miss contestants for six international queen titles.

Representing Louisiana were Kailah Fresina, of Zachary, IJM Miss Louisiana’s Junior Princess; Caitlin Hager, of Baton Rouge, IJM Miss Louisiana’s Princess; Anna Claire Reily, of Central, IJM Miss Gulf Shores Princess; Ailynn Fresina, of Zachary, IJM Miss Pelican State Princess; and Layna Baker, of Baker, IJM Miss Gulf Shores Preteen.

IJM pageants are for girls ages 4 to 24. Competition categories include interview, fun fashion and evening gown, with side competitions of talent, media correspondent, casual wear, spokesmodel, photogenic, photo shoot model, volunteerism, academics and more.

International queens can earn over $3,500 in scholarships, free trips across the country and abroad, designer endorsements, photo shoots and more. They will promote the national charity, Ronald McDonald House, and their own personal platform.
