The Department of Creative and Performing Arts at the Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts in Natchitoches presented its end-of-year awards during a ceremony May 11 in the recital hall in the Center for Performance and Technology.

Marika Buchholz, a senior from Baton Rouge, received a Certificate of Recognition for participation in mixed ensemble for six semesters and participation in instrumental studies for six semesters, a Certificate of Excellence for four semesters of chamber ensemble, a Certificate of Award for selection to the 2014 Louisiana Music Educators’ Association All-State Symphonic Band and 2015 LMEA District II Cavalier Honor Band and a Certificate of Achievement for a senior clarinet recital.

Shona McCullough, a sophomore from Baton Rouge was one of three students to receive a Certificate of Award for selection to the 2015 LMEA District II Lafitte Honor Band.

David Jones, a senior from Baton Rouge, was awarded Best Actor in a Supporting Role for “The Children’s Hour.”

Jeffrey Patrick, a senior from Baton Rouge, was honored for outstanding achievement in digital media,

Jack Sweeney, a senior from Baton Rouge, was honored for outstanding achievement in printmaking.

Erica Charlton, a senior from Baton Rouge, received a Certificate of Recognition for participation in chorale for four semesters.
