The Runnels School brings the world of Mary Poppins to life when its Junior and Senior High School Drama Department presents Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s “Mary Poppins the Broadway Musical.”
Performances are at 7 p.m. Jan. 19-20 and 2 p.m. Jan. 21. Tickets are $15 at the door or $12 online in advance. Online tickets are available at runnels.org.
Jill Swetnam conducts the live band for the production, directed by Runnels K-12 Theater Program Chairwoman Neena McLain. Rachel Harper-Hart leads the choreography and Aaron Turnipseed the vocal direction. Junior Camille Doucet serves as the stage manager.
The technical theater classes will run the show, performed on student-designed sets.
The cast is led by Kayla Evans as Mary Poppins, Alex Morgan as Bert, Tyler Robbins as George Banks, Sophia Torres as Winifred Banks, Madisan Milam as Jane Banks and Evan Shaneyfelt as Michael Banks.
Other featured players are Natalie Tooraen, Riley Mockler, Aubri Watts, Landon Simpson, Jenny Cook, Sophie Edwards, Abby Robbins, Peter Lukinovich, Jade Tew, Eli Latiolais, Haley Brassard, Garrett Miller, Joshua Freeman, Kyra Reeves, Katie Brigman, Ella Brigman, Phoebe Koontz and Madaleine Alessi.
Ensemble members are Amelia Breeden, Piper Davis, Madeleine Reonas, Sophia Horridge, Sadie Alello, Caroline Collins, Alex Matthews, Simone Sharp, Preston Kyle, Mollybeth Wilkinson, Kissa Nicholas-Whitt, Natalie Fairley and Jackie Hinkle.
