The Baton Rouge Corvette Club invites the public to visit its new website at brcorvetteclub.com to learn about its activities and membership. It counts more than 160 Corvette owners among its ranks.

The website includes information on activities including car cruises, car shows, parades, community festivals and other displays, and photos and information on each member’s car. Members need not be Corvette owners to join.

The club’s four major yearly events are an annual car show, crawfish boil, steak dinner and Christmas party. Other events include its sister clubs in New Orleans, Jackson, Mississippi, and Biloxi, Mississippi.

The 2018 car show is slated for April 21 at the Bayou Plaquemine Waterfront Park in Plaquemine. Participants are urged to preregister. The show includes plaques, trophies, valve cover races, music, raffles, silent and live auctions and prizes.

This year, the club raised $92,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, through its annual car show, and a group traveled to the hospital to present the check. The show has raised more than $560,000 since its inception.

Club meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month at the St. George Fire Department, 14100 Airline Highway, in the conference room. Meetings begin with social time at 6:30 p.m. Visit brcorvetteclub.com for membership information.
