Capital Area United Way’s Board of Directors has approved a 2015 workforce campaign goal of $9.8 million, a news release said. The campaign runs through November.

“We have a goal of increasing our donor base from 24,000 to 25,000 individuals in this year’s campaign,” said Joanie Montelaro, 2015 Campaign Cabinet chairwoman.

There are nearly 1,350 people in the 10-parish area giving at The Gottlieb Society’s leadership level of $1,000 or more annually, the release said. An increase in Gottlieb Society members provides an opportunity for strong campaign growth and direct program impact.

A strategic focus for this year’s campaign is to increase donor participation and focus efforts on engaging specific groups of people to join The Gottlieb Society and the African-American Leadership Society.

Four hundred corporate partners will run a campaign this year.

“We are excited about another successful workforce campaign and working with our corporate and community partners, faith-based groups and others through employee campaigns, sponsorships, grants, advocacy efforts and volunteer opportunities,” said Ralph Bender, chief financial officer for Manship Media and current CAUW board chairman.

CAUW raised $9,444,738 in the 2014 workforce campaign.
