The Baton Rouge Area Foundation recently presented more than $48,000 to the East Baton Rouge First Responders Fund, which has supported local first responders injured or killed in the line of duty for nearly three decades.

The money came from a WBRZ telethon, online donations and on-site donations at Whitney Bank branches in Baton Rouge.

BRAF Executive Vice President John M. Spain and Whitney Bank Regional Baton Rouge Market President Robert Schneckenburger presented the check to fund representatives at Whitney’s City Plaza branch, a news release said.
