East Baton Rouge Master Gardeners hosted a reciprocal luncheon June 9 in the conference center at LSU Agricultural Center Botanic Gardens at Burden for 23 Mississippi Master Gardeners and guests.

Rain prevented the scheduled hayride through the LSU property, but the visiting group toured the gardens at Windrush and the Burden Museum prior to the luncheon, a news release said.

Following the distribution of gardening gifts to the guests, the group went to Hilltop Arboretum on Highland Road for a tour and dessert course.

On May 21, some 49 gardeners from Baton Rouge had a chartered bus tour to Montrose Plantation, a cottage garden and two nurseries, and had a three-course luncheon at Shadyside Plantation hosted and prepared by the Natchez Master Gardeners.
