End-of-summer reading parties have plenty in store for children ages 3 and older.

Games, spacewalks, clowns, prizes, refreshments, face painting and lots of other fun will be available from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at the Eden Park Branch Library, 5131 Greenwell Springs Road, and 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Main Library, 7711 Goodwood Blvd.

The Newly ‘Grad’ Game

Brandon Kelly, a business development officer with EFCU Financial, will speak to newly graduated high school students, high school seniors and their parents about financial responsibility in a presentation from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Main Library.

This interactive, informational seminar will provide avenues for parents and students to talk about money.

Movie in the plaza

A free showing of the animated film “Rise of the Guardians” (rated PG) will begin at 7 p.m. Friday in the plaza at the Main Library.

All ages are welcome to attend, and refreshments will be available for purchase. Smoking is not allowed.

“Rise of the Guardians” tells the story of the Immortal Guardians teaming up to protect the innocence of children around the world when an evil spirit launches an assault on Earth.

Panemopoly

Teen fans of the “Hunger Games” series are welcome to play a Panem-themed version of Monopoly from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday at the River Center Branch Library, 120 St. Louis St.

How to download e-books

Adults can learn how to download e-books to their e-readers, tablets, laptops or smartphones using library resources from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Carver Branch Library, 720 Terrace St.

This class is free of charge and no materials are required, but participants can receive personalized assistance if they bring their devices. No registration is required.
