Runnels Junior High School’s softball team celebrates its Baton Rouge Girls Athletic Association bronze division championship. Runnels Junior High School’s softball team brought home the Baton Rouge Girls Athletic Association’s bronze division championship with back-to-back victories Oct. 24. The team ended the season with a 9-1 record.

The first round of the playoffs pitted the Lady Raiders against Episcopal with an 8-0 win, including Chloe Bueche striking out seven hitters, Kate Kelfstrom scoring two home runs and Reilly Wilks scoring one home run.

The 4-0 win over University High in the second round included Bueche pitching four innings, striking out eight opponents, and Bueche, Meredith Taliaferro and Katherine Campbell scoring home runs.

Other team members include Izzy Arey, Allie Bethea, Alyssa Oubre, Hope Oubre, Brooke Parsons, Ramsey Rogers, Lauren Tolson, Jasmine Townsend, Addie Watson and Olivia Williams. The team is led by coach Brent Lax and assistant coaches Kayleigh Nicholson and Sophie Treadaway.
