LSU’s Center for Community Engagement, Learning, and Leadership presented its Happy Award to Knock Knock Children’s Museum on Feb. 27.
The award recognizes faculty, staff, students and community partners who demonstrate dedicated excellence in service-learning practices, according to a news release.
“Knock Knock Museum is so honored to receive this wonderful recognition. We take great pride in making sure that our volunteer opportunities provide not only a chance to help the museum and serve others but also give our volunteers an opportunity to learn,” said Monica Dugas, the museum’s volunteer manager.
Service-learning opportunities available to volunteers at the museum include an internship with art therapy students, a Southern University service learning class, LSU PK3 students and an internship with Baton Rouge Community College’s Program for Successful Employment.
