Luke Francis Chasuk, of Boy Scout Troop 136, achieved the rank of Eagle Scout on Aug. 9. The Eagle Court of Honor was held at St. George Catholic Church, sponsor of Troop 136.
To achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, a scout must earn 21 merit badges and demonstrate leadership and community service by organizing and completing a project. Chasuk’s project was to install more than 100 plant identification signs at the LSU Hilltop Arboretum. He worked with arboretum staff on planning, and recruited other scouts and volunteers to complete the project.
Chasuk is a freshman at Ave Maria University in Florida, where he is majoring in biology. He is the son of Robert and Patti Chasuk and brother to Sam, Dan, Mark and Monica.
