University Laboratory School at LSU will observe its centennial with a celebration at 2 p.m. Friday in the school’s Pennington McKernan Gymnasium and Multipurpose Facility.

Alumni, current and former faculty and friends are invited to attend.

The celebration will include the unveiling of a centennial commemorative painting by artist Jack Jaubert and the first showing of the ULS centennial video.

The featured speaker is Newton Thomas, Newtron Group founder, owner and CEO and ULS alumnus of the Class of 1962.

ULS first opened its doors on Sept. 20, 1917, under the name Demonstration High School under what was then LSU Teachers College.
