St. Aloysius Catholic Church welcomes internationally known organist Karol Mossakowski for a recital at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 9. The public is invited to the free performance.

At St. Aloysius, Mossakowski will perform organ works of Johann Sebastian Bach, Felix Mendelsohn, Cesar Frank, Louis Vierne and Maurice Durufle.

Mossakowski began studying the piano and organ with his father at the age of 3. His musical studies in Poland with Elżbieta Karolak and Jarosław Tarnawski were followed by organ, improvisation and composition classes at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. His Parisian instructors were Olivier Latry, Michel Bouvard, Thierry Escaich, Philippe Lefebvre and László Fassang.

His accolades include first prize at the International Prague Spring Competition and the Grand Prix de Chartres in 2016, regarded as one of the most prestigious international competitions, a news release said. Mossakowski served as the young artist in residence at the Cathedral of St. Louis King of France in New Orleans from 2014-15.
