The Baton Rouge Corvette Club’s $92,000 donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital was celebrated at Hooter’s in Denham Springs on July 22.
The club has surpassed $562,805 for the children of St. Jude since the 1988, and club leaders said the group ranks first in total donations to St. Jude of all car clubs in the United States.
All proceeds from the annual open car show, club sponsors, raffles, 50-50 and other donations go to the St. Jude fund, the club said in a news release.
Corporate sponsorships are a key element in raising dollars for this charitable donation, the release said. Sponsors receive advertising on the club website, car show banner, T-shirts, announcements and a plaque for their business. Anyone interested in being a sponsor, making a donation or contributing any items for goodie bags can contact Mike Segura by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (225) 266-7159 for information.
The 20th annual car show is set for April 21. Corvette enthusiasts attend events, cruises, car shows and dine out together. Club members caravan together to fairs, landmarks and festivals, always looking for destinations that the drivers enjoy.
