Local students were among a group of Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts students participating in the Louisiana Thespian Festival. It was held Jan. 26-27 on the campus of Northwestern State University.
Junior Caroline Koonce and senior Hannah Miller, both of Baton Rouge, and Denham Springs senior Charlie Roppolo joined more than 20 LSMSA students for two days of classes, workshops and performances. Students also had opportunities to audition for college scholarships and meet students and directors from across the state.
The festival was presented by the nonprofit Louisiana Thespians Society, an active member of the Educational Theatre Association and the International Thespian Society. The society serves junior high and high school theater programs, with junior and high school students, theater teachers and art advocates among its membership.
