Registration is open for the C.W. Austin Learning Disabilities Conference, slated for 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 3 at the Catholic Life Center, 1800 S. Acadian Thruway.
The free event, sponsored by the Greater Baton Rouge Learning Disabilities Coalition, is intended to educate and support parents, educators and professionals about learning disabilities and the mental health issues that many accompany such disabilities, a news release said.
Learning disabilities and mental health issues covered include ADHD, dyslexia, autism, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, apraxia, memory problems, anger issues and other concerns.
Six hours of free or low-cost Continuing Education Units will be available for counselors, social workers, educators, speech-language pathologists, parents and foster parents.
