Classroom Spotlight: Parkview Baptist School first grade _lowres

The Southside Advocate’s Spotlight Classroom this week is Gina Wilson’s 2015-16 first-grade class at Parkview Baptist School. The students were asked:

  • What would you like to be when you grow up, and what do you need to do to get ready for that job?
  • GAVIN AYO: “I want to be a police officer, and I can get ready for that job by helping other police officers.”
  • MARY LUCILE BADEAUX: “I want to be a dentist. I can brush my teeth good each day to get ready for the job.”
  • MILES BRUMFIELD: “I want to be a construction worker. I can help adults now to get ready for the job.”
  • CHANDLER BURNS: “I want to be a scientist that makes robots. I can continue to learn new stuff to get ready for the job.”
  • CAROLINE CHAMBLEY: “I want to be a teacher. I can listen to Mrs. Wilson to help me get ready.”
  • BRODY DEVILLIER: “I want to be a policeman. I can pretend to play a policeman at home to help me get ready for the job.”
  • HOLDEN DRYDEN: “I want to be a baseball coach. I can watch my coach teach me how to play baseball to help me get ready.”
  • MICHAEL FOSTER: “I want to be a policeman. I can watch the chief teacher and learn how to be good and keep people safe.”
  • RYLEE HEBERT: “I want to be a rock star. I can practice singing every day to help me get ready.”
  • OWEN LLEWELLYN: “I want to be a boxer. I can train every day by punching the punching bag to help me get ready.”
  • ADAM MARIEN: “I want to be a scientist and invent things. I can learn math today to help prepare me.”
  • DADE MARTIN: “I want to be a baker. I can start trying to make cookies and cakes to help me get ready.”
  • BEN MATHIS: “I want to be a coach like my dad. I can listen to my coach now to help me get ready.”
  • ELLA MURRAY: “I want to be a baby sitter when I grow up. I can practice with my baby dolls to help me get ready.”
  • ROLLINS PIERCE: “I want to be a firefighter. I can use the hose at my house to practice and help me get ready.”
  • SADIE RAYMOND: “I want to be a veterinarian. I can help my mom and dad with the dogs to help me get ready.”
  • HICKS SPILLERS: “I want to be a doctor. I can help my friends if they are hurt or sick to help me get ready.”
  • JAMES TEAGUE: “I want to be a police officer. I can help those around me to prepare me.”
  • BAILEY WEBB: “I want to be a teacher. I can listen to my teacher now to help me learn.”
