The keynote speaker at Baton Rouge Community College’s 19th annual commencement ceremony will be Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome.

The ceremony begins at 10 a.m. Dec. 15 in the Mid City Campus’s Bonne Sante’ Health and Wellness Center, 201 Community College Drive. It is the first fall commencement ceremony in the college’s history. More than 367 students will receive degrees.

"We are honored to have Mayor-President Broome serve as our fall commencement speaker," said Larissa Littleton-Steib, chancellor of Baton Rouge Community College. "Over the course of her career, Mayor Broome has demonstrated tremendous leadership in the Legislature and has been a strong advocate for higher education and specifically a supporter of the community college mission. I am certain that she will deliver an inspiring message for our graduates."
