BREC offers crocheting lessons to adults ages 50 and older every Friday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Adult Leisure Center at Parklawn Park. This form of needlework can be used to make blankets, baby clothes and more.

Swamp bird walk
Take a trek through Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center with a Baton Rouge Audubon Society member at 7 a.m. Saturday.
The morning hike through the swamp includes the identification of various bird species, bird-watching techniques and identification tips. Field guides and binoculars are optional but recommended.

Teen Game Day
Jones Creek Regional Branch Library’s Teen Game Day from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday features Mario Kart 8 on the Nintendo Wii U.
Jones Creek Regional Branch Library’s Your Pace or Mine Walking Club meets at 6 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays to walk mapped paths surrounding the library. All fitness levels are welcome.

Feel the love with Baton Rouge Zoo’s I Heart My Zoo Day from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 10. Regular zoo admission applies. Zoo grounds close at 5 p.m.
