BRAC honors teachers with STEM excellence award _lowres

Photo provided by Mark Lambert -- The Baton Rouge Area Chamber has honored Kenilworth Science and Technology School teacher Elkhan Akhundov as one of the top STEM educators in the Baton Rouge area.

The Baton Rouge Area Chamber recently honored teachers through its Excellent STEM Educator Award, a competitive award that recognizes public middle and high school teachers who demonstrate STEM excellence.

Honorees included Kenilworth Science and Technology School teacher Elkhan Akhundov; Ingrid Cruz, of Scotlandville Pre-Engineering Magnet Academy; Justin Davenport, of West Feliciana High School; Daniel Eiland, Woodlawn High School; and Heather Howle, of West Feliciana Middle School, a news release said.

The winners were chosen by a subcommittee of BRAC’s Education and Workforce Issue Council, which consists of area business leaders.
