Jones Creek Regional Branch Library invites all ages to a night of bingo with a twist from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday .
Anyone who has pledged a New Year’s resolution is welcome to dress as their resolution. If someone guesses that resolution, the person dressed as the resolution is a winner. Prizes will be awarded.
Celebrate Louisiana Arbor Day at the LSU Agricultural Center Botanic Gardens from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free and open to the public.
Activities include scaling a Louisiana live oak, meeting Smokey Bear, a scavenger hunt, learning about native trees and planting a tree to help reforest the native trees lost during Hurricane Gustav. Concessions will be available for purchase.

Baton Rouge Zoo’s ZooMobile will visit the Fairwood Branch Library from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Geared toward children ages 4 and older, the ZooMobile educates kids about wildlife conservation through live animals and biofacts.

Coloring and cocoa
Warm up with an hour of coloring for adults from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fairwood Branch Library. Steaming cups of cocoa will be provided.
The Groovy Button Guessing Game for children kicks off Feb. 1 at Jones Creek Regional Branch Library.
The game is inspired by the book "Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons." The library’s guessing jar, filled with buttons, will be on display through Feb. 28 in the Children's Room. The child with the guess closest to the number of buttons in the jar will win a prize.
Horseshoes & Camping Crews
Wednesday is the deadline to register for BREC’s inaugural Horse Shoes and Camping Crews campout at Farr Park Equestrian Center, which will be held from 3 p.m. Feb. 3 to 10 a.m. Feb. 4.
This family under-the-stars experience includes horseback riding, archery, a movie at dusk, a campfire, meals and other activities. Children must be ages 6 or older to ride a horse. Cost is $35 per family of five and an additional $5 for each person older than 5.

With Valentine’s Day on its way, love is in the air. Plan a night with that special sweetie at Jefferson Highway Park, where a Valentine’s Movie Mixer will be offered from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Feb. 2.
The evening, for ages 21 and older, features a choice of wine, beer or soda, as well as appetizers, trivia, a movie and more. Cost is $25 per couple and registration is due by Feb. 2.
