The East Baton Rouge Parish Library’s Jones Creek Regional Branch will honor veterans and those serving in the military through Saturday.
Library patrons and employees are invited to bring in photos of family and friends who have served or are serving in the military. The photos will be posed on the library’s bulletin board in the center of the library to pay tribute to American veterans.

Support group meets
An Alzheimer’s caregivers support group will meet at 1 p.m. Nov. 17 at the East Baton Rouge Parish Library’s Jones Creek Regional Branch.
Dianne Miller will lead the discussion for family and friends of those with Alzheimer’s or dementia.

Santas on the run
Hundreds of Santas will be running through the streets of downtown Baton Rouge at the third annual Oaks Kiwanis Club 1.25-Mile Santa Fun Run on Dec. 13. The fun run will precede the 64th annual Cortana Kiwanis Christmas Parade.
All registered participants will receive Santa suits to wear during the fun run. The suits include a red jacket, black belt, red pants and Santa hat. Adult sizes also include a beard.
Santa runners are being asked to donate toys and books to St.Vincent de Paul in the spirit of Christmas. After the fun run, participants will be able to enjoy the parade from a VIP runners viewing section or are welcome to stay at the finish line to hear a DJ spin Christmas tunes.
The fun run starts on the corner of River Road and Government Street. Streets will close at 2:30 p.m. and Santas will line up for the run at 4:45 p.m. The race begins at 5 p.m., with the parade following at 5:30 p.m.
Those interested in participating in the Santa Fun Run can register for $25 at www.iamathlete.com or on site the day of the run.
