An essay about his favorite teacher earned Runnels Elementary School student Eli Todaro and his sixth-grade class an end-of-the-year snow cone party.

He earned the party by writing a winning essay in the “Treat Your Teacher” contest sponsored by Frugé Orthodontics. In his composition, Eli explained why Runnels science teacher Julie Fink was his favorite.

Fink makes “all of her students feel equal,” he wrote. “She does that,” he continued, “by making sure that all of the students get to do an activity instead of having one or two people do it.” He added Fink has a way of putting “a smile on everyone’s face.”

In addition to winning the party for his class of 54 students, Eli received season passes to Blue Bayou Water Park for himself and his brother and a spa treatment at Bumble Lane for his favorite teacher, Fink.
