Local beauty queens with The Crowning Moment volunteered at the annual USS Kidd Fourth of July event in downtown Baton Rouge on July 4.

The family-fun event featured a children’s activity area, music, games, food and fun. Baton Rouge Mayor-President Kip Holden presented the awards at the hot dog eating and pie baking contests.

TCM girls had the opportunity to meet Miss USA Nia Sanchez and were filmed for the Miss USA pageant to be televised on the Reelz Channel. Later, they met the Miss USA contestants before the fireworks display.
