Capital Area CASA is getting ready to kick off its 21st annual Casas for CASA playhouse fundraiser, presented by Faulk and Meek General Contractors.
The fundraiser, which raises money for the Capital Area Court Appointed Special Advocate program, gets underway Sunday, July 19, with the CASA Fiesta at the Renaissance Hotel from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The fiesta features food by Caliente Mexican Craving, a silent auction and music by The Better Than Nobody Band. Dress is summer casual. Tickets are $50 each and are available at casabr.org, at the door or by phone at (225) 379-8598.
The 2015 playhouse, valued at $22,000, will be on display at the lower level center court of the Mall of Louisiana from July 25 to Aug. 16. Raffle tickets are $5 each and available at casabr.org, at the mall or at the CASA office, 848 Louisiana Ave.
The fundraiser wraps up with CASA Kids Day from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, at the Mall of Louisiana. Children of all ages can enjoy safety and wellness exhibits, activities and entertainment throughout the day, culminating with the playhouse giveaway at 5 p.m.
All proceeds benefit Capital Area CASA Association, a nonprofit that recruits, trains and supervises community volunteers who advocate for abused and neglected youth in East Baton Rouge Parish in need of safe, permanent homes.
