More than 40 seventh-graders visited St. Michael’s campus in March as part of the school’s new Shadow Day program.
The program gives prospective middle school students from area schools the opportunity to experience a typical day at St. Michael as they “walk with a Warrior,” a news release said.
Shadows are paired with freshman students and accompany them to several classes, interact with St. Michael faculty and students, meet the principal, eat lunch and tour the campus.
“St. Michael is pleased to offer this new program for prospective middle school students,” St. Michael Principal Ellen Lee said.
“We recognize how much consideration goes into the decision-making process when choosing a high school. Our objective is to assist in this process by allowing prospective students to experience St. Michael High School through our day-to-day school activities.”
The next series of shadow days will be held in the fall and will be open to eighth-graders.
