United Way meet-up ‘Springs Into Action’ _lowres

The Capital Area United Way Women’s Leadership Council held its “Spring Into Action” meet-up for members and potential members on May 22 at the Renaissance Baton Rouge Hotel.

Attendees also had a chance to sign up for volunteer opportunities at the United Way’s Day of Action.

Joan Cronan, women’s athletic director emeritus at the University of Tennessee, was the featured speaker.

“I love seeing women getting involved in leadership roles and raising money,” she said in a news release.

Other speakers were Ruthie Golden, Realtor and co-owner, ProSold Realty; Nikki Caldwell, head coach of LSU women’s basketball team; Capital Area United Way President/CEO Darrin Goss; and Susan McCarter, vice president/branch manager at IberiaBank.

The event was hosted by the Women’s Leadership Council committee and sponsored by BASF.
