BREC’s Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center, 10503 N. Oak Hills Parkway, is opening the doors of its new education building Saturday to teachers and group leaders.
Teachers, home-school educators, and youth group and Scout leaders are welcome to tour the new group education center and learn about the hands-on opportunities for students and field trips, a news release from BREC said.
The tours are set from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The new education building features the Cypress Room, a spacious theater with room for large group presentations; the Tupelo Room, a larger activity room perfect for art projects; the Gather Gallery, a breakout area for small group interactive activities; and the Backyard, for fun-in-the-sun group games, the release said.
One teacher will win an in-class swamp animal parade, and educators will receive information on upcoming Project Learning Tree and Project WILD workshops.
The first 100 in attendance will receive limited-edition portfolio binders featuring the new Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center logo.
Registration is not required, and there is no admission charge. Attendees should bring their school or educator-issued ID for admission. Attendees should enter through the education building entrance, at 10533 N. Glenstone Place.
