Burden Horticulture Society has generated another exciting lineup of artists and photographers for the 2015 “Brush With Burden” art exhibition.

The exhibition is dedicated to the memory of Steele Burden, a noted artist, landscape designer, horticulturist and philanthropist, a news release said.

More than 700 people attended the 2014 show, with more than 20 percent of the exhibited art being sold.

For 2015, “Brush With Burden” has expanded its exhibit space to accommodate additional art and a larger crowd.

Phil Sandusky, a New Orleans plein air impressionist, is the juror and judge of the art entries. Sandusky’s work is frequently featured in both local and national magazines. He has published four books of his works that are available in bookstores nationwide.

Judging the photographic art are John Ballance, the director of photography for The Advocate and a member of the National Press Photographers Association, the Associated Press Photo Managers and Nikon Professional Services; Marie Bissell Constantin, an internationally known still-life photographer; and William Greiner, whose works can be found in more than 60 permanent museum collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the National Museum of American Art and the J. Paul Getty Museum.

The March 21 opening reception, set for 6 p.m. at the LSU Agricultural Center’s Botanic Gardens and Orangerie, will feature paintings, photographic art, 3-D and mixed media, food and wine.

There is no charge for the event. Awards for the show will be presented at 5:30 p.m. The exhibit continues March 22 and March 29, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and March 23 through March 28, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
