Mary Camille Savoie, a 2015 graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy in Baton Rouge, has been named a president’s scholar at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
Savoie, the daughter of Paula and Thomas Savoie, will be a freshman at SMU this fall. She plans to major in business.
President’s scholars receive full tuition and fees for four years of undergraduate study, plus tuition and transportation for study in one of the university’s international programs. Scholars have opportunities to meet with visiting scholars of national and international stature and with public and corporate leaders in the Dallas community.
Savoie also received a Campus Community Award, which pays for room and board while living in a university residence hall.
