Swamp bird walk
Take a trek through Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center with a Baton Rouge Audubon Society member at 7 a.m. Saturday.
The morning hike through the swamp includes the identification of various bird species, bird-watching techniques and identification tips. Field guides and binoculars are optional but recommended.

Scan personal photographs, art and/or records during Scan Day at the Main Library. It’s from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Genealogy Reading Room.
The library’s high-quality Epson scanner will be available to patrons for one hour per person. Directions will be provided, and library staff will be available to answer questions and offer assistance.

Yoga for children
Little ones are invited to free yoga classes at Bluebonnet Regional Branch Library. Ages 12 months to 3 years meet at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, while ages 18 months to 5 years are at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday.
Yoga instructor Audrey Kafkallides will lead both classes in meeting room 1. Participants should bring a mat or beach towel.

Deco mesh wreaths
A deco mesh wreath class for adults gets underway at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bluebonnet Regional Branch Library.
The wreaths can be customized for any time of year, including Valentine’s Day and Mardi Gras. Limited supplies are available, so participants should bring their own deco mesh ribbon and embellishments.

A craft session for teens at Bluebonnet Regional Branch Library features the making of greeting cards with LED lights. It gets underway at 3 p.m. Feb. 8 and all materials will be provided.
Love at the zoo
Feel the love with Baton Rouge Zoo’s I Heart My Zoo Day from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 10. Regular zoo admission applies. Zoo grounds close at 5 p.m.
The Valentine’s event includes Safari Amphitheater programs featuring birds-and-the-bees facts about zoo animals, keeper chats, animal enrichments and the making of a valentine for a loved one.
