Bluebonnet Regional Branch Library's crafting groups get together during separate gatherings Thursday to work on a variety of handmade projects.
The Knitting Nook meets from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Limited supplies are available. Bring one pair of size 8, 9, 10 or 10½ knitting needles and at least one ball of yarn. All levels and left-handers are welcome.
The Crochet Corner gathers from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. All skill levels are welcome. Bring a U.S. size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook or one similar in size. Yarn will be provided, but crocheters also can bring their own.
Teens can take a break from the cold at Bluebonnet Regional Branch Library, where an afternoon of anime and ramen noodles begins at 3 p.m. Thursday .
Movie in the Park
The animated tale “Sing” (PG) is the featured film for BREC’s Movie in the Park series at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Mayfair Park. Free popcorn and punch will be provided. Families should bring blankets or lawn chairs.
The movie will be moved inside the gym if the weather is unfavorable.
BREC offers Danza de Calle, an Afro-Latin street-style dance class and social, for ages 21 and older on the last Friday of every month from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Classes are held at the Independence Banquet Room, next to the Main Library on Goodwood Boulevard. Cost is $10 per person.

Horseshoes & Camping Crews
Wednesday is the deadline to register for BREC’s inaugural Horse Shoes and Camping Crews campout at Farr Park Equestrian Center, which will be held from 3 p.m. Feb. 3 to 10 a.m. Feb. 4.
This family under-the-stars experience includes horseback riding, archery, a movie at dusk, a campfire, meals and other activities. Children must be ages 6 or older to ride a horse. Cost is $35 per family of five and an additional $5 for each person older than 5.

With Valentine’s Day on its way, love is in the air. Plan a night with that special sweetie at Jefferson Highway Park, where a Valentine’s Movie Mixer will be offered from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Feb. 2.
The evening, for ages 21 and older, features a choice of wine, beer or soda, as well as appetizers, trivia, a movie and more. Cost is $25 per couple and registration is due by Feb. 2.
