A. Cooper Langlois Knecht has been named interim head of school for 2016-17 at Trinity Episcopal Day School.
Knecht replaces Head of School Kim Jones, who moved to Tennessee to join her husband, the Rev. Chad Jones, at his new church parish. The school is conducting a search for a permanent replacement, a news release said.
Knecht has 40 years of teaching and supervisory administrative experience, mostly with the Caddo Parish school system. She is certified in seven areas of education specialization, including principal, supervisor of instruction and supervisor of student teachers, the release said.
Knecht has an elementary education degree from LSU and a master’s degree in school administration from Centenary College.
She began teaching in 1976 as a classroom instructor in Bossier Parish, then taught in Caddo Parish and was curriculum coordinator for Stoner Hill Lab School. She also was principal of Herndon Magnet School for eight years and area director of school performance, directing 20 schools, the release said.
