Enjoy a morning bird-watching hike through Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center at 7 a.m. Saturday with a member of the Baton Rouge Audubon Society.

Art exhibit at library
The Highland Road Artists group’s annual exhibit goes on display at Bluebonnet Regional Branch Library on Tuesday.
The exhibit will remain on display through the end of July.
Wanna be a rock star?
Children ages 3 to 6 are invited to bring their rock ’n’ roll swagger to Bluebonnet Regional Branch Library’s meeting room 1 at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
There will be a reading of “So You Want to Be a Rock Star” by Audrey Vernick, and kids will practice their rock star moves and color a cardboard guitar.

Brown Bag Movie
Bluebonnet Regional Branch Library’s weekly Brown Bag Movie feature this Wednesday includes a Pixar short films collection, including “The Girl Who Hated Books” and “No Dogs Allowed.”
Children are welcome to bring lunch and a drink for the movies, which will be shown in meeting room 2. Large groups or day cares cannot be accommodated.

Bluebonnet Regional Branch Library has a few craft sessions planned for children and teens.
Children ages 8 to 11 can make rubber band friendship bracelets at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in meeting room 2. Supplies are limited, so registration is required; call (225) 763-2240.
At 3 p.m. Wednesday, teens will have the opportunity to make magnets out of recycled bottle caps and photos. Pictures will be provided, but feel free to bring your own.
A basic crochet tutorial for teens begins at 3 p.m. July 7. Learn how to create your own scarf.
Paws at work
The Baton Rouge Police Department’s K-9 Unit will give a demonstration for children ages 2 and older at 10 a.m. July 7 at Bluebonnet Regional Branch Library.
The handlers will talk about their dogs and how they help law enforcement, as well as show off their skills.
