The members of the West Feliciana Volunteers for Family & Community Club have been meeting monthly since October.

The club is for people from West Feliciana who are interested in volunteering for positive community project and efforts. While currently all female, club members said men are welcome to join. The mission of WFVFC is to strengthen individuals, families and communities through education, leadership and action.

The members are off and running with projects. In January, members led games at the Council on Aging. They provided the COA clients with prizes and snacks. At the February meeting, members of the Humane Society, Ruth Waller and Valerie Koubek, shared information about its services and expressed some of the shelter's needs. During that meeting, the club gathered books in preparation of delivering them to St. Francisville Country Manor. Members assisted the West Feliciana Parish Library with Senior Movie Day, by popping corn and pouring refreshments.

The club meets at 11 a.m. the first Friday of each month at the West Feliciana Parish Library. For information about the West Feliciana Volunteers for Family & Community, contact Layne Langley with the LSU AgCenter at (225) 635-3614.
