On May 9, 2017, Shelton Foster Jr. broke the Guinness Book of World Record for riding a motorcycle the longest distance with no hands. He put in 228 laps around a track in MSR Speedway in Houston Texas to make 186.7 miles. “We did this to bring awareness to domestic violence our charity, Domestic Abuse Resistance Team, and to combat veterans with PTSD,” Foster said. Foster said he was born and raised in Angola, Louisiana, and still has relatives in St. Francisville.

On May 9, a former West Feliciana resident made the Guinness Book of World Records.

Shelton Foster Jr. broke the record for riding a motorcycle the longest distance with no hands.

Foster said, "We did this to bring awareness to domestic violence (through) our charity Domestic Abuse Resistance Team and to combat veterans with PTSD."

Foster, who grew up in Angola, said they rode 228 laps around a track at MSR Speedway in Houston for 186.7 miles. He said he has family still in St. Francisville.

Foster recently received certification that he holds the Guinness record for riding a motorcycle without hands.
