West Feliciana Middle School athletic director Tim Washington and volleyball coaches Joy Cazabat and Julie Morrow took the middle school players to a LSU Lady Tigers volleyball game on Oct. 2.

The Lady Saints includes three teams of sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders.

Cazabat, who has been coaching volleyball at the middle school the past two years, said this was the second time the WFMS teams have attended an LSU game.

"The girls have really enjoyed themselves the past two years ... and we plan on making it a tradition to attend at least one Lady Tigers volleyball match every season," said Cazabat. "We think it's a good way to expose the girls to the sport they love and to see how volleyball is played at the collegiate level. Who knows? It may inspire them to work hard academically and athletically in hopes of one day playing at that level."

Cazabat said the trips to see the Lady Tigers compete are a fun way to get her teams to bond.

The Lady Saints played their final home games on Wednesday against STEM Academy.
