ST. FRANCISVILLE — Anna Field, a St. Francisville native and senior at Mission Vista High School in California, has accepted a spot in the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy's Early Entry program.
The Early Entry program offers high-achieving high school seniors early acceptance into the professional pharmacy program and will allow Field to avoid the pharmacy school application process that normally occurs during a pre-pharmacy major's junior year of college, a news release said.
"Pharmacy is so intriguing to me because it has the perfect mix of sciences and social interaction," Field said. "I have always wanted to pursue a career that helps others, and I have found that pharmacy is that perfect match. It allows for so much personal explorations and room for choice."
Field's interest in health care led her to take AP chemistry and calculus courses, as well as a biomedical sciences class. She said her parents encouraged her throughout her academic career.
"My mom and dad have definitely been the most influential people in my life," Field said. "They have always pushed me, seen my full potential and helped me reach my goals."
