The Reader Leader program and its participants received books again through a donation by the North American Young Generation in Nuclear at River Bend Entergy.

Natalie Wood, of Entergy, delivered the books to the Reader Leaders and their students at Bains Lower Elementary School on Dec. 12. Each child received books of their own to keep up their joy of reading during the holiday break.

“Just the simple act of giving the students books helps us to reinforce the value and importance of reading as well as the joy it brings. We are truly grateful to Natalie and the NAYGN for their thoughtfulness and generosity," Stephanie Ferguson said.

There are 31 Reader Leader students and 34 Reader Leaders participating in the program. Reader Leaders meet with their student once a week at the school to read a book of their choice.

“This program continues to be a success due to the people who generously volunteer their time every week for the duration of the school year. During this season of giving, they truly embody that meaning,” Ferguson said.
