House honors youth legislators, AgCenter agent _lowres

JaQueilon Floyd, of St. Helena College and Career Academy in Greensburg, was among youth legislators invited to participate in the “Day at the Capitol” on June 1.

Floyd spoke with members of the Louisiana House of Representatives and was interviewed by WBRZ News Channel 2 about the bill he wishes to propose during the next mock Youth Legislative Session in 2016. He also spoke with the Southern Strategy Group about his experience with Youth Legislature. 

During the Day at the Capitol, The Boys and Girls Club Youth Legislator Program was honored in the House chamber by state Reps. Ted James and Regina Barrow. 

James also recognized Southern University AgCenter’s assistant area agent Nicolette Gordon for her continued work with youth programs in the state.
