We are alive during a time when there seems to be no peace anywhere. Cable news and newspaper stories are filled with chilling stories. With the instant access we have to news from all across the world, we can become consumed with the negativity from the news media and social media.
I wouldn’t suggest avoiding media because to be successful, you must stay abreast of what is going on in our world. What I will suggest is a life of peace.
I am pro-peace, and I believe you should be. However, many of us have chosen to become victims to the cesspool of negativity. Life is nothing but a choice. Each of us has countless choices placed before us during our lifetime. The most important choice is to decide whether or not to live.
There are billions of wonderful people walking this beautiful expansive Earth. On the flip side, there is a small percentage of the Earth’s population who has decided to live. This small percentage of people are the envy of the rest of us. To us, they seemed to have found the secret to life.
As legendary “Sports Center” commentator Stuart Scott would say, “They are as cool as the other side of the pillow.” They are never rattled under pressure. They have figured out how to navigate the many mazes and traps of life. Or so it seems. Quite frankly, the people we love to envy do not have life figured out.
What sets these people apart? What makes these people appear to float through life and come out with seemly no wounds from life’s adverse events? Are you ready for the answer? Here’s the secret: These individuals have chosen to not let outside chaos affect inner peace. They choose peace, and each of us are afforded the same choice each day.
A life of peace is deliberately carved out day by day. It is time for you and me to start carving. We have to shape our lives and build the foundation of peace we need.
Do not stop adding peace to life. Restock the shelves of your heart and mind when it gets low. Never let it run out. I guarantee your life will become the masterpiece it is destined to be right before your very eyes. Let’s get to work. Time is in a hurry, and opportunity has no patience.
