Life presents many unique challenges. In fact, each day has myriad challenges. Many of the obstacles we face can easily be overcome. However, during the course of life and the many stress-related events of life, it is easy to become bogged down by our circumstances.
It is easy to become discouraged. It is easy to forget there is always hope, no matter how abysmal the circumstance may seem. For the most part, many of us, myself included, tend to lose sight of what is important when life events do not pan out the way we envisioned them doing so. Quite frankly, walking around discouraged and pouting like a child when life is going awry is not the solution.
We must learn to be tenacious and never lose sight of the end goal. We must learn to never forget there is a journey associated with life. Too often, we are emotionally fragile. When life does not provide us with our wants, we focus on what we did not get and forget the bigger picture. Whether it’s a domestic situation or never-ending job dilemma, we must remember to remain strong in the face of adversity.
The key to conquering life is to never become small-minded. When you are small-minded, you will tend to focus on the small negatives instead of the big positives. Never become small-minded and mired in the small intricacies of life. The key to being great at being who you were created to be is to always focus on the end result.
We cannot give up so easily. We cannot go through life feeling defeated and discouraged. If you are defeated mentally, then you are setting yourself up to fall short of your potential. Mental toughness is the key ingredient in the life of a champion. Mentally, we must be locked into our life’s journey and determined to beat the odds no matter how great the task may be.
St. Helena, let’s not take our eyes off the big picture. Focus. Persevere. Rise to the occasion. Continue cementing your legacy in life. Continue aiming to be great in every area of your life. Do not give up on your marriage, career, health or any other aspect of your life in which you may be struggling. There is hope. You will succeed as long as you always remember the big picture.
