St. Helena Parish 4-H members took part in the recent LSU Agricultural Center 4-H Parish Science Fair.

The fair encourages students, parents and teachers to take an active interest in the study of science by providing an opportunity for students to conduct and present an independent scientific inquiry, a news release said.

First-place winners are: Brian Tanner, Megan Blatcher, Chania Watson, Jameyos Anderson, Alayaja Burton, Keyosha Smith, Marcus Higginbotham, Keyla Robbins, Maliha Lee, Jordan Garnett, Willinekia Self, Devonte Morgan, Larry Foster, Breyanna Jacque, Dussell Cooper, Tyron Hurst, Jakiya Johnson, Jerquan Myles, Sherquan Myles, Davion Brumfield, Aysai Torres and Larry Self, Samps Taylor, Julia Washington, Dalvarius Porter, Trevion Tanner, Brianna Gowe, Chloe Jackson, Destiny Wells, Jerkayla Johnson, Jherica Dudley and Regina Hughes.

Second-place finishers are: JaMyra Rogers, Brianna Shelvin, Moesha Martin, Tyron Holland, Samora Hitchens, Alyssa Causey and Alajah Smith, Dearrius Butler, Moses Baker, Jacob Evans, Tomminesha Johnson, Miya Gerden, Breana Muse, Robyn Womack, Renzo Torrance, Noah Williams, Ryan Fields, Javien Dunn, Darryl Hampton, Scott Jackson, Trinidy Clondier, Ronisha Lee, Scott Jackson, Tyvonne Torrance, Reyvon Jackson and Warren Brumfield.

The first- and second-place finishers competed in February in the Regional Science Fair at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond.
