Southern Ag Center hosts workshop, fashion show _lowres

The Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center hosted a Fashion Fights Poverty Workshop and Fashion Show Sept. 12 at St. Helena College & Career Academy.

The club’s members learned the history of sustainable fashion and designed sustainable T-shirts, a news release said. Members of the Outstanding Mature Girlz Club also learned about poverty in Louisiana.

Elected club officers hosted their first Fashion Fights Poverty Fashion Show and Can Good Drive Sept. 15 at St. Helena College & Career Academy during their lunch shift. Students donated canned food items.

All donations will be used in gift baskets that will be donated to the elderly before Thanksgiving.
