West Feliciana High School’s senior class will graduate in a ceremony at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the football stadium.
Ngozi Nwabueze, student of the year, will give the class address, John Hamilton Willis will issue the greeting and Alexis Bell-Pierce will give the farewell message.
Highway work continues
Officials from West Feliciana Parish and the state Department of Transportation and Development would like to make residents and motorists aware of lane closures for U.S. 61.
According to the DOTD, there will be single-lane closures between La. 421 and the Louisiana/Mississippi state line so that contractors can patch the roadway.
The northbound lane closure will continue through Friday and the southbound lane closure will be from May 18-22.
At no time during the scope of the work should traffic be delayed, as U.S. 61 is a four-lane highway and one lane will remain open at all times both northbound and southbound, DOTD officials said.
DOTD reminds motorists to exercise caution when driving through the construction site and to be aware of work crews and equipment.

Kids to Parks Day
State parks are partnering with the National Park Trust to host Kids to Parks Day, a nationwide day of outdoor play encouraging families to explore the outdoors and their nearby parks on Saturday.
Admission is free at all of Louisiana’s state parks and historic sites. This year’s special events include a guided tour of rarely seen aspects of Rosedown State Historic Site, 12501 La. 10, that focuses on the working side of this well-visited plantation site in St. Francisville.
Visitors will get a peek at the attic of the main house and tour the production greenhouse where plants are cultivated for the site’s historic gardens, learning the “nuts and bolts” of what makes Rosedown tick.
The tour begins at 10:30 a.m. and ends at noon.
