Boy Scouts earn badges during fall ceremony _lowres

Boys Scouts of America’s Troop 61 conducted its fall Court of Honor at St. Francisville United Methodist Church Oct. 5.

A Court of Honor ceremony awards scouts for their advancements and merit badges earned over several months.

Six scouts earned a total of 56 merit badges for archery, emergency preparedness, geology, first aid, forestry, personal fitness, weather and wilderness survival.

Three scouts earned the Boy Scouts of America’s World Conservation badge, five earned the Tenderfoot rank and one earned a First Class rank, Scoutmaster Wayne Slater said.

BSA Troop 61 is sponsored by the church group, United Methodist Men.
