West Feliciana graduate becomes officer _lowres

Texas-born Emily Nichols, a 2008 West Feliciana High School graduate, is Zachary Police Department’s newest police officer.

She was raised in St. Francisville and is the daughter of Bridget and Ross Nichols, of St. Francisville.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with minors in psychology and sociology from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2013 and graduated officer training at the Capital Area Regional Training Academy in Baton Rouge in June 2014.

“I have always had a strong desire to protect those around me and serve as a role model to youth in the community,” Nichols said.

She is married with one child and lives in Zachary.
